“Unprecedented” is the catchword for 2026.
Planetary energies are coming together in forms and ways that will bring new meaning to that adjective. We had a hint of them in mid-2025, but only a hint. What 2026 has in store is far greater than the preview. Humanity has not seen the likes of this in thousands of years.
The astrology will reshape not just our experience of reality, but also how we interact with it.
The foundational event is a conjunction between Saturn and Neptune at the first degree of Aries. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. This location has several important effects. The first degree is a world point, marking a huge collective moment. The first degree of the sign of Aries in particular is raw creation energy – passionate, risk-taking, unpremeditated and self-starting.
Many of us have lived with Saturn in Aries before. His most recent visit (which happens every 28 ½ to 30 years) was April 1996 – February 1999. Neptune, in contrast, is new to us. Except for a brief foray last year, he hasn’t been in Aries since the mid 1800s. And the two of them together in Aries? Not since the dawn of recorded history.
So: unprecedented.
This meeting is fundamentally a paradox. The planet of structure is fusing with the planet that dissolves structure. Saturn is the most earthbound, practical, consequence, and responsibility influence in the sky: Neptune is utterly unmoored from physicality and is the most boundless influence in the sky.
In Aries, they are burning away concepts of authority and lighting a fire in individuals across the globe. The conjunction holds the promise of personal empowerment and activation. Throughout history, when Saturn and Neptune have met in any sign (which they do roughly every 36 years), events have tilted toward a lateral expression of power, such as barons in England presenting King John with the Magna Carta – echoing the Pluto in Aquarius “power to the people” vibe, but with an injection of passion and life force.
Look at this fusing as reigniting your own personal creative and spiritual fire and elevating you – elevating us all – to the office of spiritual warrior.
Saturn and Neptune sparked this possibility last year, from March 30, when Neptune entered Aries, to May 24, when Saturn followed suit, to July 17, when they came close to a conjunction, but did not complete it.
Their union begins with Neptune’s reentry into Aries on January 26. The energy becomes palpable down here on earth when Saturn enters the sign on February 14 (yes, Valentine’s Day). The actual conjunction is February 20, when what was previously a spark ignites into fire.
Their meeting sets the tone for the year and for the next few decades as well. It’s giving us the rocket fuel, the moxie, the daring, the “just do it” bravado to navigate the strange new reality that’s been taking shape around us.
That reality, and our relationship to it, will undergo blossoming, changes, twists, and turns as the year goes on. They are especially active in July, when expansive Jupiter, transcendent Neptune, and change agents Uranus and Pluto open doors and currents to each other.
These planets have been interacting in the past year or two with the elements of earth and water. Now they are in a dance of fire and air, wiping out previous ideas (and likely technology) and ushering in possibilities we may never have considered. It may well be chaotic, and hectic, and perspective tilting; think of July 2025 for hints.
Still, it’s not disruption for its own sake. Some form of stabilizing locks in by the end of August. Your own confidence is high on the list of probabilities. So is evidence that you have mastered the promise of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction.
Embrace it. Claim it. Work from it. Yes, you still have to live within the bounds of society, but consider: if the ground rules have degenerated, why not make up your own? Not to the detriment of others; the current Pisces north node argues against that, and so does this conjunction.
The 2026 Astrological Overview tells you to proceed from your own integrity. Visualize yourself in spiritual warrior mode. Follow the energies that arise and erupt, connecting the depth of your core to the heights of inspiration. And watch your fellow humans doing the same.
