Maybe it’s simply reflecting your worries. Maybe the 8th must not always be a bad house. It also has some positive significations. It’s his resources and support. You didn’t tell us anything about the countries or cultures. So you have to find your own interpretation for this. What I don’t like so much is Sun in the 12th and Venus’ fall. But it might simply depict him as being far away. The 12th is the exile, and Bonatti says, it’s also the house of very long journeys. In your 2nd question, the ruler of long journeys is in the 12th. But I don’t even know if we have to consider the 2nd chart. 9th lord is also in the 12th in the first one, and even identical, together with Sun, applying to Sun. Moon translating Sun to Venus by square is logical, because there is obviously a delay built into the whole story by default, the obstacle of being far away from each other. But I would answer both questions with yes. And still I’m wondering, what does Sun/Mercury at the South Node mean? It gives a sense of a karmic journey, connection or aquaintance here, as Sun and Mercury have already crossed the node, and also a sense of weakness and having to let go of things, which is the challenging part for now. You have to let go of each other for now, but the omen for a future encounter is there and positive with all those applications of your significators
