Since this individual is going to have a big impact on the city of New York, I thought I would take a look at his Nine Star Ki chart. New York is an important city within the United States and in the world, so the reverberations have gone around the globe. Mayors of other U.S. cities, not so much.

Firstly, anyone looking into a public figure’s birth data needs to know that the stated birth date on the internet may have been altered for privacy reasons.  But this is all we have to go on, unless we know the individual personally.  His publicized birth date is October 18, 1991.

This makes Mamdani a 9 Fire Star person. This means his birth star is the same element as Trump and Kamala, who I wrote about this time last year.  Fire people often catch the attention of the public as they can easily be showy people and extroverts.

Specifically for 2025, we look at what non-literal “palace” the person dwells in, and it is in the East Palace for Mamdani.  East is associated with spring-time energy, starting new projects, getting things rolling.  In the simplest of terms, Nine Ki practitioners would say he has had energy this year to support his run for office.  And all year, his personal 9 fire star has been opposite the 4 Wood star in the West. This can reveal a number of things, both good and bad, such as appearing empathetic, but also back-tracking and being ambivalent on certain matters.

Next, we can look at the month of the election and in Nine Star Ki, the month of November did not start until the 7th of the month. So, on Election Day of November 4th, we were still operating under October energy.  For the month, his 9 star was in the Southwest Palace, which can be described as a planning mode. Opposite his star for the month was the 6 star, which can represent the law and the government.  He positioned himself as a revolutionary who announced big changes for the city of New York.

For an even deeper dive (like a background program running simultaneously) his month chart could be superimposed over the year chart (and the day chart) to see his entanglement with a cycle called the “Reversed Luo Shu Axis.”  While it did not impede him from winning, there was certainly a “shock and awe” affect which could be tied to that greater cycle. After all, we don’t usually hear about masses of people planning to leave a city after a local election.

On the day of the Election, his 9 fire star was sitting right in the Northwest Palace.  This is the home of 6 Metal, which is related to such things as government, power, getting acknowledged, and legal matters.  Across from his 9 star on November 4th, we see the 7 Metal star.  This star in Nine Ki is associated with gaining leadership, having to protect one’s reputation, proving credentials, demolishing things and walking away from things that are dysfunctional. There is also a lot of sexual energy associated with the 7 star, deception and it is also symbolic of a knife.

Now, Mamdani takes office in January, which is still part of the 2025 yearly cycle.  The Nine Ki New Year is the same as the Feng Shui New Year, which adheres to a Solar calendar that begins on or about February 4th each year.  At that time, his 9 star will shift to the Southeast Palace.   The Southeast Palace is related to “late spring” when the energy is still rising and becoming more yang and active.  It can be a time to get things accomplished.

That being said, his 9 star will be juxtaposed all year with the 2 star in the Northwest Palace. As mentioned, the Northwest Palace is associated with the government, the law, and power. The 2 star is related to large groups of people who share a common identity. That could be New Yorkers, Muslims, Jews, immigrants, tax payers, any particular group.  When your own star is directly opposite another star, it reveals tension and when more negative things can occur.

The 2 star is also related to food and a commercial kitchen.  The idea of having the communist-style government-run grocery stores may actually be implemented, or at least become a hot topic in the mayor’s office.  With the 2 star in the Northwest Palace specifically, it can also symbolize a government agency (including ICE.)  The 2 star is also symbolic of older women, mothers, wives. I happened to notice his all-female transition team.

The 2 star as it relates to large groups of people can also be protestors or rioters and the 2 star can also be symbolic of land and real estate.  These are all issues which Mamdani wants to take on as mayor.   It will certainly be one of the more interesting “shows” to watch in 2026.
