January is the last month of the Snake year and the No 9 Star in the CENTRE gives everyone a good chance of growth and abundance. It will be easier to grasp opportunities and turn them into something fabulous. Relationships will be smooth and money luck is good – what wonderful prospects to end the Snake year! Use this time to wrap up your projects, finalise deals or try new things while nurturing your relationships.
The SE, SOUTH and SW are particularly auspicious this month and it’s worth spending more time here. Set up your work station here or use these spaces for your creative activities or entertaining. The NW also enjoys positive energy thanks to the monthly No 1 Victory Star but please continue to keep this area quiet to avoid provoking the annual No 3 Star.
The patriarch and matriarch continue to enjoy superior Ho Tu energies together, as the SW benefits from the monthly No 6 Heaven Star and the NW enjoys the No 1 Star, both forming the Ho Tu combination that brings superior intelligence.
The sectors to look out for are the EAST, NE, NORTH and WEST, which are home to the negative stars. Here, you will need protection from Loss, Aggression, Misfortune and Illness.
The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.
To apply these monthly stars successfully, you need to map out the compass sectors in your home or office. If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, I recommend you take two compass readings as follows:
• one compass reading from your main door, looking out, and
• another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.
These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.
Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance door and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.
SOUTHEAST (1/8)
The SE continues to enjoy wealth luck thanks to the No 8 Wealth Star flying in this month. Activating it will bring the kind of luck to help with business growth and continued financial gains.
Displaying a Sky Bull or the Dragon Treasure Boxes in your SE will help you harness these auspicious energies (but not in a bedroom). But please remember that the No 8 Star can also bring illness, and I therefore suggest placing a Wu Lou (e.g. the 9 Prosperity Wu Lou) as well to suppress the illness chi.
Those of you who live in SE-facing houses or have their bedroom in the SE will particularly benefit from carrying a Trinity of Horses Bag Charm and an Annual Wealth Amulet 2026 to give your wealth luck an extra boost. The same applies if you are born in the Year of the Dragon or Snake.
In addition, it would be good to carry a Triple Blessings Wu Lou Amulet or a Healing Deer Gold Card to protect your health this month.
SOUTH (6/4)
The stars in the SOUTH form the very auspicious “Sum of Ten” this month, which will help you bring your plans to a successful completion. The monthly No 4 Star can also bring a new love into your life, help students do well in school or college/university, and support those who are working progress in their careers.
To enhance, you can display the Perfect Ten Enhancer in your SOUTH and carry the Saraswati Swan Amulet or Perfect Ten Amulet.
If you are single and looking for love that lasts, you can display the Peach Blossom Peony Love Box in your SOUTH or in the SOUTH of your bedroom and carry a Double Happiness Love Talisman.
SOUTHWEST (8/6)
The SW is another very lucky area this month, where the No 6 Heaven Star brings financial windfalls and new opportunities. Spend more time here and display Pu Hsien Pusa on her sacred white elephant to activate the luck even further.
To enhance wealth and windfall luck you can also display a Lap Chun Wealth Tree.
If it’s career luck you wish to strengthen, you can carry a Nobleman Gui Ren Talisman.
Matriarchs and people born in the Years of the Sheep or Monkey can particularly benefit from these fabulous energies. Think outside the box and do things differently – the stars will support you! Another great activator for the lucky Heaven Star is the Heaven Seal Amulet.
EAST (9/7)
Luck takes a dip in the EAST, as the No 7 Burglary & Loss Star flies in, increasing the danger of robbery, betrayal and money loss. Be careful who you trust, as chances are high of getting cheated or entangled in office politics. Avoid taking financial risks.
To suppress this negative energy, you can place a Wealth Lock Coin in the EAST of your home or your office.
If you are experiencing trouble at work, you can place the Strategic Rooster on your desk or in the EAST of your office and carry a Rooster Amulet.
If your home faces EAST or your bedroom is in the EAST, please carry a Peacock Feather Amulet this month for protection. It will be best to keep a low profile for the time being, especially those born in the Year of the Rabbit.
CENTRE (2/9)
The CENTRE is the heart of the home and whichever star flies into this sector will affect all residents. This month, the No 9 Star of Current Prosperity brings wonderful wealth luck and happiness. It is a good opportunity to increase your visibility by being more outspoken about your thoughts and ideas.
Make the most of this auspicious time by carrying a Number 9 Twirling Wealth Amulet or a Nine Rod Abacus Amulet!
To boost the No 9 Star for career luck, you can display a 9 Dragons Decorative Plate in the CENTRE of your home.
Those of you who are in business can place a 9 Ring Sword on their desk to boost sales and profits.
WEST (4/2)
The WEST is afflicted by the No 2 Illness Star this month, bringing danger of illness and injuries. Those of you who spend a lot of time here, e.g. if this is your home office or bedroom, are likely to feel more drained and exhausted than usual. Work or studies will take more effort.
The 9 Prosperity Wu Lou is ideal here, as it will strengthen your health and wealth luck at the same time.
If your main door or bedroom is in the WEST, you ought to carry a Triple Blessings Wu Lou Amulet for protection.
Elderly family members or those who are already suffering from ill health should avoid this sector and sleep in a different bedroom this month if necessary.
NORTHEAST (5/3)
Quarrelsome energies take hold in the NE and those who get hit by it could experience serious relationship problems at home and at work. It is best to keep this area as quiet as possible this month to avoid aggravating the aggressive energy.
To calm the Chi, you can display the “Tai Kat Tai Ley” Apple Enhancer or Anti-Conflict Rooster here.
Those living in NE-facing houses are likely to be hit by trouble, especially if you are involved in business or politics. As protection, you can carry a Ksiddigarbha’s Fireball Amulet or “Tai Kat Tai Ley” Apple Amulet wherever you go and display Kuan Kung on Horseback on your work desk.
NORTH (7/5)
The NORTH is troubled by the No 5 Misfortune Star, making it a very dangerous sector. Please don’t disturb this part of your home this month, do not renovate or do any kind of drilling or hacking here, or you might be causing obstacles and misfortune to befall you. Best to keep this area very quiet and avoid any kind of noise.
For protection, you can display a 5 Element Pagoda or the new Heart Sutra Pagoda here and carry a Heart Sutra Pagoda Amulet.
If your bedroom is in the NORTH, it would be good to add a metal Wu Lou on your bedside table to suppress misfortune and illness energy.
NORTHWEST (3/1)
The NW benefits from the No 1 Victory Star this month, promising successful outcomes and new beginnings, so it will be well worth to activate this sector this month! The No 1 Star will help you make the right moves and gives you a competitive edge. Your efforts will bear results and invite promising opportunities, whether you are presenting new ideas or negotiating deals.
To activate, you want to place a Victory Wind Horse or a Victory Flag in the NW of your home and/or office.
The patriarchs and those of you living in NW-facing houses should carry a Victor Wind Horse Amulet wherever they go – especially when attending meetings.
If you would like to boost your promotion luck, you can place a Dragon Ru Yi in your NW while a Nine Rod Abacus will help boost your sales and profits.
