In a school of Feng Shui called the Flying Star School, factors of time and direction are calculated, in order to interpret an unseen magnetic field which exists in every enclosed structure.
The numerical coding that we assign to the different directional sectors of a floor plan are just that: numerical coding. The numbers (stars) can represent many things, including body areas and functions, certain family members, an element, and even the potential for events and circumstances.
Each of these stars goes through a complete phase that lasts for 180 years before repeating perpetually. And for 60 of those years, the star in question will be in a very good phase (for 40 years) and an excellent phase for 20 years. However, in the remaining 120 years within the great cycle of 180 years, that same star will pass through more negative or dormant phases.
Each flying star practitioner knows that the stars change in their influence slowly over time, but some of my peers have contacted me with questions about the flying star 2, in particular. The flying star 2 began a very good phase in 2024 and it will reach the beginning of its “excellent” phase in 2064. And yet, even though the flying star 2 has begun this positive trek, catering to (or believing in) its new “identity” has been a struggle for some. Why?
When the 2 star is in its more negative phases, it can be associated with bleeding and miscarriage. It can be associated with pain, loneliness, and issues with the entire abdominal area. This includes digestion and the reproductive area for women. Colleagues of mine who learned Feng Shui back in the last Period 7 (1984-2003) were taught that the 2 star needed to be weakened (with metal) in order to diminish these potentially negative influences. This was evident with occupants who may have spent a lot of time in a portion of their floor plan with a residing 2 star.
And yet, almost like flipping a light switch, in Period 9 we need to view the 2 star differently, just like every other star that goes from its “death” phase into its reborn phase. This does not mean that the 2 star cannot still exert a negative impact. Like any other star in any other phase, if another star is dominating it, it can bring out the worst in that star.
The 2 star is associated with the earth element. It is the Kun Trigram. If a 3 or 4 wood star is paired with it, we say that Wood depletes (destroys) Earth, so this is an example where the star can still manifest those problematic traits. The way we deal with it is different however, since the classic Reductive Cycle is now used to bolster the 2 star instead of diminish it.
We can add the fire element to the 2 earth star, as long as there are no other stars which could be harmed by the fire element. An example of this is the 5 earth star when paired with a 2 star. If you add fire for the sake of the 2 earth star, you would also be strengthening the 5 star and that is almost always a far worse situation, to be avoided. The exception of course is during a Period 5 time frame. But during any Period 5, the 2 star will not be in a good phase, so they are not going to each do well with fire when they are linked together.
These unseen flying star energies are created when a house or building is built. They have an enduring influence over long periods of time and they stay “in place” for the most part, unless there has been some radical remodeling, which could shift their location somewhat. An example of this is a kitchen that gets enlarged by pushing it further out from the original footprint of the house. If there is a 2 star here, the expanded kitchen size would allow for more space to be ruled by the 2 star.
No space is just one star or one element however. Each directional sector of a floor plan hosts two main flying stars, a third Period star, a “star” associated with the direction and then the changing annual, monthly and daily stars. Each space is a “flying star minestrone soup” with a hierarchy of influences which need to be addressed uniquely for the space.
When the 2 star is in a positive phase, it can be associated with good health instead of sickness. It can support and empower the eldest female or mother in the space and it can even bring prosperity to someone through real estate.
These flying stars are the fabric of time and space for any dwelling and the great news is that they respond well and predictably to what we put in those spaces.
