This case study was fun to create as it gave me an opportunity to flesh out how pervasive the 5 star energy and symbolism is throughout Feng Shui and other disciplines in Chinese metaphysics. Further, the 5 star energy, sometimes symbolic of the Sun, is the focus of worship and adoration in other cultures and ancient societies as well. Without the Sun, we have no food, we have no world.
When we do Space-Time calculations on a structure, based on when it was built and its compass alignment, we arrive at two permanent 5 stars, which settle into distinct directional zones within a floor plan. We also have temporary annual, monthly, and daily 5 stars: short term impacts which can also be predictable. Further, many other calculations with other stars have their origin or root emanating from the 5 star.
The other main objective in the Magnificent Five Yellow Star case study is to help readers and practitioners realize that the 5 star is not always negative and no one needs to fear the presence of the 5 star.
Excerpt:
“This case study will cover many uses and references to the 5 star. We can better appreciate it and work, respectfully, with this energy. When the 5 star is “wang” it can be the best of the best energy. And yet, when it is not in its wang phase, the 5 star can cause problems for people; thus the reputation as being “evil.” Learning about some of the actual Chinese emperors from various dynasties also gives more meaning to why the 5 Yellow would even be “nick-named” Evil Emperor. We can assume that the Feng Shui masters who worked for the Chinese emperors did not refer to 5 Yellow as “evil emperor” in their company!
From another perspective, the 5 Yellow is just an instigator, to bring out what is already innately a potential or a weakness that a person may have. As an example, instead of saying that 5 Yellow “causes accidents” we could think of 5 Yellow just bringing out an “accident waiting to happen” for certain individuals that need to go through that experience. The implications here are that if you work on making your own personal qi very strong and positive, the 5 star may not be able to trigger those negatives in your world. The 5 star is like a mirror, reflecting back at a person.
The term “wang” here refers to when a Flying Star is timely or in a positive phase which is during any given Period 5 for the 5 star. The positive characteristics come out of the 5 star during this time. In the United States of America, the last Period 5 (1944 through 1963) was a period of great expansion of the middle class, construction, and prosperity. The 5 star brings wealth in Period 5.”
