WEEK 17 RUNS FROM WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23rd TO TUESDAY THE 29th.
NOTE 1: This is an 8 WEEK (1+7=8) in a 9 YEAR (2+0+2+5=9).
8+9 produces another 8, (8+9=1+7=8). So, WEEK 17 is a DOUBLE-8 WEEK.
This is also the 5th week of a 7-week cycle in which all the week numbers are KARMIC TEEN NUMBERS. The teen years are intense learning and discovering years. So, in these teen weeks, it is essential that we try to understand the power, potential, and sheer frustration of today’s teenagers. It is equally important for older people to remember our own teen years, and what we learned from those experiences, and of course, what we did not learn. Karma is another word for cause-and-effect, which is the principal nature of 8.
8 is the number of POWER on the material plane, and it is perhaps the most karmic of all the numbers since it gives a return on whatever we put out into the world.
We are likely to see large-scale karma at work in WEEK 17, because 8 represents investment (which is why it is always associated with money, manifestation, and abundance – but that is a narrow view of this ultra-powerful number.) 8 returns to us what we give to the world, good and bad. What goes around comes around!
8 teaches us how to combine things of limited potential into something of greater value. But the greatest gift that 8 bestows is not material in nature, but emotional. It is the feeling of SATISFACTION and CONTENTMENT that comes from truly APPRECIATING what you already have, instead of constantly craving MORE, MORE, MORE.
This week’s double-8 vibration can help us better comprehend the extent of the mayhem, confusion, and flagrant abuse of power occurring all over the world. This includes serious disruptions to religious and educational institutions.
And with the death of Pope Francis on Monday, Catholicism is in the spotlight. It is one of the oldest and most established religions, and the spiritual belief system of an estimated 1.2 billion people.
The double-8 vibration is reflected in his age. He was 88 years old. He was born on 17 December, 1936. He died at the end of WEEK 16, but the fallout of his passing will continue throughout WEEK 17, and beyond, until a new pope is elected. That in itself will be watched closely, because his success at modernizing Catholicism is vehemently opposed by many powerful Vatican traditionalists, some of whom are now in the running to replace him.
He was anti-war and anti-poverty. He was against unrestrained capitalism and consumerism. Climate change action was a major aspect of his papacy. He urged a more sympathetic approach toward the LGBTQ community – and called for the decriminalization of homosexuality. He called for kindness towards migrants and refugees all over the world. He opposed the death-penalty. He initiated radical change to the Catholic Church, all geared towards compassion and peace, and being born on the 3 LIFE PATH (the number of communication), he was outspoken about his beliefs and undertakings.
On a karmic level, 17 is perhaps the most self-centered number of all. 1 = EGO and SELFISHNESS, and 7 = MISPLACED PRIDE and ASSUMED SUPERIORITY. However, 17 also holds the highest propensity for not only obtaining knowledge, but also being able to understand information on multiple levels.
In a week that focuses on POWER, we are likely to realize just how POWERLESS we are (which is often the case for teenagers themselves, given their age and lack of experience), but also just how POWERFUL we have it in us to be! We, the people, ARE the power that fuels humanity – the leaders we’ve been waiting for – which is why so much effort is being put into killing our individual and collective WILLS. The WILL is a complex and vital part of ourselves that is little understood. Our most basic instinct – SURVIVAL – the WILL TO LIVE – is where the WILL begins.
Last year, 2024, was an 8 Global Year, in which the greed-driven bullies of the world, in positions of great power, created horrendous situations, which are ongoing and expanding, so beyond belief that they blew our minds and numbed our emotions. And since emotion is the main component of the human WILL, we have been unable to respond in any way that appeared to make the slightest difference. So, the bully continues to bully – with impunity.
But in these TEEN WEEKS, these karmic weeks, there is a marked difference in the reactions and responses of people all over the world. As frightening as it may feel, we instinctively know that if we do not stand up to the bully, the bully will prevail. WEEK 17 is a good time to put this to the test because 17/8 not only represents POWER, but more specifically, the ABUSE OF POWER.

8 enables us to adjust our priorities as we go, in order to maintain balance. In fact, when correctly understood and applied, 8 IS balance. It takes us beyond mere survival, and enables us to thrive. However, our definition of what it is to thrive needs deep scrutiny at this stage. Our survival really does depend on changing our materialistic ways and appreciating – being grateful for – the sheer abundance that Mother Earth is, and understanding our place as one of her species.

8 represents all forms of POWER, and the multi-layered, intertwined POWER GAMES that are going on in the world today. The old war-driven system maintains its power by keeping the population unaware, which is why we are being bombarded with disinformation and lies, and why factual history is being erased.
In the 1000s, the ruling powers learned to inject false information into public consciousness. They became adept at setting people against each other (divide and conquer). Propaganda is a cruel weapon which alters our perception of reality. But feminine 2 represents transparency, perception, and the importance of detail and nuance. Amid all the corruption and atrocity in the world, it is the INFORMATION WAR that keeps it all going. The war on TRUTH. And because 2 is feminine in nature, the war on women deepens. If a woman does not own her own body, how can she be free?
17/8 brings lessons concerning when to stay and when to leave, when to increase your involvement and when to withdraw. We are learning to gauge how much of ourselves we are able to give to others while pursuing our own needs. 17/8 helps us untangle ourselves from unwarranted guilt – the type that makes us feel responsible for events and circumstances that we can do nothing about, or which we could not have prevented or handled any differently at the time. Guilt keeps us stuck in place, unable to move on. 2 shows us that it doesn’t have to be that way.
We are currently moving through a huge concentration of 2 energy: the millennium of the 2000s, and the decade of the 2020‘s, which can help us develop the powers of PATIENCE, PARTNERSHIP, and COOPERATION, without which it will be impossible to evolve.
17/8 = the fulfillment of potential. And this week’s 1 7 8 vibrations can help you expand your awareness. Wherever you are seeking answers, or when certain aspects of a situation don’t make sense, don’t be tempted to rush things along to get a quick result. Go more deeply into the details, and give yourself time to notice what you’ve been overlooking. Understanding the nature of what you are dealing with is vital.
We must learn to be totally honest with ourselves as to what we’re feeling, moment by moment, and day by day. Any time we shrug our emotions off and just go about our daily act, we cut ourselves off from our ability to FEEL and SENSE. Without that, we cannot change anything because we have no desire to do so. No desire means that we have nothing with which to hold our hopes and wishes together. Desires slip away so easily that we call them our ‘dreams’. Follow your dreams, we say. But if you can’t feel, there is nothing to keep the memory of your dream alive. No PASSION. We get distracted too easily and forget what we were once so excited about. Excitement is a cocktail of feelings. But many people choose to forgo that urge just so they will not have to feel fear, which is also an essential part of the emotional range, an essential part of our intelligence, and an essential part of being alive.
People only see what they want to see…which leaves us ill-prepared for real change. We are afraid of change. Only when we are more afraid of the status quo than we are of change can real and meaningful change occur – and we do appear to be moving closer to that stage now.
Both 2 and 4 represent PATIENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL. APRIL in this 9 YEAR is a karmic 13/4 MONTH. And 22 is the most balanced form of 4. PATIENCE is a power unto itself when used correctly. TIME is a natural phenomenon, visible and measurable by the duration of the seasons, tides, sunrise, sunset, and other natural cycles. TIME IS THE RHYTHM OF MOTHER NATURE. (Clocks and calendars are merely the instruments we humans invented with which to measure time). PATIENCE is the ACCEPTANCE of time.
