Many people are familiar with the phrases and concepts, “good feng shui” or “bad feng shui.” These terms signal something about the environment or interior space which is either conducive to health and well-being or undermining to health and well-being.  And it can get more specific than that, but the headlines point to a house or building which is desirable to dwell in–or not.

There are numerous of categories and for the most part, what is considered good or bad feng shui will affect people similarly. And yet, there are personal aspects to any analysis, where one house could be good for one person and the same house not so good for a different person.

This case study on Personal Compatibility With the House details techniques and formulas reliant on a person’s birth year to determine.  We have, for example, the “No Marriage” House or the Lonely Pillow sleeping Direction.  We have house types that support financial luck as well as extrapolations on how to use that information for a sleeping direction or for an entrance. The Case Study has over a dozen formulas for personal compatibility with a house or ways to use a remedy based on birth year, such as the Draining Direction, Romance direction, Good Study Habits Direction or alignments with real or virtual water which should be avoided.

EXCERPT:

If you want to REDUCE Peach Blossom (Romance) Energy, such as in cases where you know of or suspect infidelity,

you use the REDUCTIVE element to the location associated with the person’s Peach Blossom Direction.

For example:  For the signs which activate South for Romance (Snake, Rooster, Ox)

You would add EARTH to the South to weaken the fire energy of that direction

For the signs which activate North for Romance (Pig, Rabbit, Sheep)

You would add Wood to the North to weaken the water energy of that direction

For the signs which activate East for Romance (Tiger, Horse, Dog)

You would add fire to the East to weaken the wood energy for that direction

For the signs which activate West for Romance (Monkey, Rat, Dragon)

You would add water to the west to weaken the metal energy for that direction***

***Now, this may seem counter-intuitive since water is normally added to the west as a Peach Blossom remedy for the zodiac signs listed.  Two things: the Vase of water used is not a lot of water, so adding a big amount could then thoroughly drain the west.  An alternative would be to use fire in the west to dominate the metal energy of West.

Keep in mind that all of these special elemental remedies should be done with the awareness of what the flying stars are in the area you are going to activate.

For example, if someone’s Peach Blossom direction needs a vase of water and the water dragon 3 star is there, I would be hesitant to bring in a vase of water to that area.  I would then look for an alternative, such as doing the Vase remedy in the bedroom (small tai qi) instead of the larger area of the house.

When you see what element can REDUCE the Peach Blossom energy, by definition, you can also see what element can undermine it when you are trying to have an effective remedy.  For example, let’s say you are trying to activate the south Wu sector for romance for someone and you see that there is a lot of earth in the area (granite kitchen counters, stone fireplace façade), then you can understand better why the Peach Blossom remedy may not work well or fast for everyone.

When adding in the personal compatibility component, each house usually has several different ways to enhance it and support the occupants. If one remedy isn’t practical to apply, there are often alternative techniques to use.
