New times require new approaches. April’s Taurus New Moon had us updating resources to fit the changing world. Now the 2025 Gemini New Moon is doing the same with all manner of discourse – internal, interpersonal, and collective.
And boy, is this setting off a lot of chatter. Cyclone? Tornado? Firestorm? Could be. It certainly won’t be quiet. Or boring.
Every new moon launches a phase, setting new possibilities in motion, refreshing matters already in progress, coaxing next stages into being. A Gemini new moon adds flexibility, curiosity, and many, many options to the equation. And this time, the possibilities are multiplying like wildfire.
Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is conjunct the 2025 Gemini New Moon, adding to the every-which-way vibe. Mercury is a fleet-footed messenger who operates at peak when he can dart freely here and there. His proximity to the Moon is blowing fresh air through our thinking, through our conversations, and through the media and channels of communication.
This could be fun and freeing, inspiring you to consider possibilities for your life you may not have previously considered.
Mercury is also a trickster, though, engaging in shell games that misdirect attention from wherever the real action occurs.
Social media, technology, and AI play a role in all this. And some of that could be, surprisingly, cut out – especially by you.
That possibility, and the oversized feel of this event, are due to the trine from the Moon and Mercury to Pluto in Aquarius. The trine is simultaneously cutting back and empowering modes of thinking and getting around.
On the cutting back end: It’s easy to pierce the noise and get to the information and channels that really matter to you. With so many options flying around, you could instinctively pick the ones that count. It’s also easy to spot manipulation and power games and go after them, or place your attention and intentions elsewhere.
Watch for enormous changes in social media platforms. The 2025 Gemini New Moon is paving the way for developments we can’t yet imagine, which will come from Uranus’ move into Gemini. (His first pass starts in July.)
The trine to Pluto brings more focus and power into your thoughts and communications. You could be emboldened to speak your truth; what you’re sending out could pack a far greater impact. It’s also facilitating connections to the community—sending your message out to more and more people, especially online, teaming with your community, engaging in grassroots initiatives, and the like.
Boldness and daring are also in the air. The potential is enormous for incredible enthusiasm, higher than high energy, and riding on a sense of spiritual mission. Saturn is just days into the sign of Aries, bringing order and mastery to the raw life force of Neptune in the sign. Their potency is yours for the asking. Mercury is in sextile to the pair (and, lassoed by Mercury’s contact, so is the 2025 Gemini New Moon).
Throw caution to the wind. The world is as it is, not as it was, so why not? Let your mind and mouth, curiosity and attention fly. You’re casting seeds of change into the future. No telling where they will land – or what they will sprout.
