Question:
Your teachings on Ayurveda and the mind/body connection have many applications for helping to heal disease, depression, addiction, marital problems, aiding in self-discovery, etc. I am wondering, however, if these teachings have an application in healing physical injury, especially of structures that medical convention holds do not have restorative or recuperative capacity. If so, would you please explain how spiritual growth, meditation, primordial sound, Ayurvedic diet, and other methods in your teachings and programs would apply to the challenge of healing physical injury? Thank you very much.

Ayurveda has been used for thousands of years to alleviate every type of health issue, but especially physical. Ayurveda contrasts with the mechanical allopathic approach to medicine in that it looks at the whole person—mind, body and spirit—but by including consciousness, it is not excluding the physical body.
For virtually every physical ailment or injury, there is a healing protocol in Ayurveda, so this is too vast of a subject to answer here, but if you research the Ayurvedic treatment for your particular injury, you will find a range of procedures.
As to your question of how Ayurvedic mental practices could possibly help the body heal; this is not such a mystery anymore. Our thoughts, feelings and attitudes effect our biology. Thought processes influence our neurotransmitter levels, hormone levels and even some gene expression. We are literally changing our bodies with our minds every moment. Tools of consciousness that utilize constructive mental patterns that reinforce the inherent healing intelligence of the body will certainly accelerate the healing process for the body.
