Many years ago, I had a client with a coffee shop. I found a picture she sent me, demonstrating her earnest desire to remedy her shop with the proper elements.  She used an abundance of red color in an area of the shop that needed fire as well as a large amount of blue color in an area that I said needed water.   She even had her coffee bags made and displayed as color-appropriate, along with artwork and wall color to match.

To be clear, when water is recommended, usually real H2O is used.  But a very large amount of blue or black color can resonate some of the water energy.

What stood out was her perceived defined line between directional zones, shown in the photoThis was also back in the day when I divided up floor plans using the Nine Palace grid method. Occasionally this method creates a visual where directional divisions may even line up with walls, fortifying an assumption that the Qi can stop exactly where a directional boundary has been identified.

Whether one uses the Nine Palace Grid method or the Pie Shape (di li) method, the lines are partially notional as the Qi is not absolutely confined by directional boundaries.  Qi has many manifestations and the flying star chart is just one layer or type of Qi.

Qi can be manipulated by the interior design, location of doors, windows, walls, angle of ceiling, hallways, decor and furnishings. Because the borderline between directional sectors can get murky and “bleed” over, it is best to apply elemental remedies more in the middle of a sector than close to the edge of a sector.

Qi (life force energy) can move fast or slow, build in momentum, move vertically or horizontally or in a spiral fashion. Qi can invigorate and nurture (sheng Qi) or it can deplete and harm (sha Qi).

Qi can move through walls, and yet the physical barriers like walls, doors, and windows can certainly slow it down. We should not scoff at the idea that Qi moves through walls in a day and Age when people acknowledge the reality of wireless technology. And what about radio waves or any sound? How does music from another room travel to your ears?  What about ELF’s or scalar waves?  There’s a whole world of Qi influencing us, in spite of not being able to see it.

Qi can be collected, perhaps even halted, by absorbing elements, like water or live plants. What my client attempted to do with her coffee shop was likely not a perfect solution to adjusting the flying stars in adjacent areas.

And in instances where fire and water need to co-exist in the same room as neighboring sectors, attention should be made to keep them separated since they are a clash (Water puts our Fire).
