Flying Stars Update – August 2025 — Feng Shui Focus

8th August – 7th September 2025

There is a lot of positive energy again in August BUT the CENTRE is home to two unfriendly stars: the No 2 Illness Star and the No 5 Misfortune Star, which can cause serious problems when they get together. I always promote protection first before activation, and this is a month when this strategy is particularly important. This is not the time for bold moves or risky changes, as even small errors could easily blow up to become major issues.

You should already have a Wu Lou in your CENTRE as your primary cure for 2025. For August, it is indispensable to add a 5 Element Pagoda to help subdue the dangerous chi, which will then allow you to safely harness all the positive influences in other areas of your home or office.

The NE – NORTH – NW corridor is very lucky, as well as the SE – SOUTH – SW corridor. These are the areas you want to energize and spend more time in. Patriarchs, Matriarchs and people in leading positions can make great progress this month.

The main afflictions this month are in the EAST, WEST and CENTRE (as mentioned above), where we have the Quarrelsome Star, the Burglary & Loss Star and the Misfortune Star respectively. These areas need cures and protection.

The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.

If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, then please use a reliable compass to take the directions. I recommend taking the compass readings as follows:

  • Take one compass reading from your main door, looking out.

  • Take another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.

These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.

Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.

SOUTHEAST (1/4)

Romance vibes are strong in the SE this month, along with creativity and study luck. Writers, students of all ages and people in media or marketing professions will benefit most from these energies. It is also a great space to activate if you are wishing to attract helpful people at work or grow your influence.

You can boost these fabulous energies by placing a Monkey God on Dragon, the 4 Element Cross or the Bejewelled Goddess Kurukulle here. Students studying for exams can display a 7 Level Scholastic Pagoda and carry an Eagle Scholastic Amulet to help achieve good grades.

Anyone looking for a new love can display the Nine-Tailed Fox on Rose Quartz Heart in the SE to boost their chances.

SOUTH (6/9)

The SOUTH is extremely lucky, with the monthly No 9 Star boosting the energy of the annual Heaven Star and promising financial windfalls, recognition, success, influence and happiness. If you are planning a career move or launching something new, the energies here will make it easier for you to achieve your goals. It is also a great sector for investors to spend more time in and business owners to hold meetings.

To activate, you can display a 9 Level Wealth Stupa or a No 9 Wealth Vault in the SOUTH of your home or office (but not in a bedroom).

If you are looking to attract new investment or business opportunities, you can display a Peach Tree with Magic Monkey instead.

Houses facing SOUTH will be extremely lucky this month and occupants can carry a Power of 9 Windfall Amulet to boost their luck further.

SOUTHWEST (8/2)

In the SW, illness chi is strong, and I highly recommend placing a pair of 5 Blessings Wu Lou or a plain metal Wu Lou to protect your health. This is particularly important for the Matriarchs and people born in the Years of the Sheep or Monkey. Those living in a SW-facing house or with bedroom in the SW also need to look out for their health.

For protection when you are out and about you can carry a 5 Blessings Wu Lou Amulet. Elderly family members and pregnant ladies better avoid spending too much time here.

Having said that, together with the annual No 8 Wealth Star we have the powerful “Sum of Ten”, which brings fabulous completion luck. This is excellent for those of you who are in the process of finalizing important projects or working towards a tight deadline. You can enhance this luck by displaying the Teapot with Completion Horse in your SW.

EAST (9/3)

The No 3 Star brings bad moods and argumentative energy to the EAST. Tempers flare up easily and disagreements can blow out of proportion. This particularly affects people born in the Year of the Rabbit and those who spend a lot of time in the EAST. Keep this area as quiet as possible and be patient with those around you!

To calm the quarrelsome energy, you can place an Anti-Conflict Rooster in your EAST or add red accessories. A happy smiling Buddha or a Peace Hanging with Red Tassel will also help.

To protect your relationships at work, you can display Kurukulle’s Gau.

To maintain harmony between you and your spouse, you can display a Double Happiness Vase with Lillies in the EAST of your home or bedroom.

CENTRE (2/5)

As mentioned earlier, having the No 5 Misfortune Star join the annual Illness Star in the CENTRE makes this a very dangerous month. There is a high risk of health issues, accidents, setbacks of any kind, and general instability that affects us all.

The best thing to do is make sure this area is kept calm and quiet. Avoid spending too much time here.

In addition to placing a Wu Lou and 5 Element Pagoda here, it is also highly recommended to carry the amulet versions for protection when we are out and about.

It is easy to suffer money loss in a month like this. As a precaution, you can display a Wealth Abacus in the CENTRE of your home and/or office.

WEST (4/7)

The No 7 Burglary & Loss Star causes trouble in the WEST, as it brings danger of robbery, financial loss, and people going behind your back. Be careful who you trust, especially if you are born in the Year of the Rooster. You could get robbed or pick-pocketed on the street and your marriage could be troubled by third-party interferences.

To subdue this hostile energy, you can display a Magic Peacock Plaque or an Anti-Burglary Plaque in the WEST of your home (and/or office).

If you are in a relationship, you can place a Happy Marriage Comb in the WEST of your bedroom to help keep your loving bond strong.

Those of you with bedroom in the WEST ought to lie low for the time being and carry a Four Weapons Protection Amulet to protect you from people with bad intentions.

NORTHEAST (5/8)

There is good wealth luck in the NE this month thanks to the No 8 Wealth Star flying in. This is particularly beneficial for anyone keen on achieving their financial goals or building a business. Improvements in cashflow and stock market performance are possible with the added bonus of unexpected financial windfalls.

The No 8 Star is a star that needs activating and you can do so by placing the Treasure Chests with Double Dragon in the NE of your home (but not in a bedroom).

However, the No 8 Star can also bring illness energy, which makes the Peach Tree with Magic Monkey also a perfect enhancer for the NE this month.

Those of you with main door or bedroom in the NE ought to wear/carry a Mantra Ring for Wealth or a Big Auspicious Pi Yao Amulet to attract money luck all day long and carry a Sky Deer Amulet to keep their inner chi strong.

NORTH (7/1)

The energy in the NORTH is greatly improved thanks to the No 1 Victory Star, promising victory, success, positive transformations and long-term prosperity. The No 1 Star gives you motivation and strength to get started and deal with challenges that may be blocking your path. It is particularly helpful if you are launching a new venture, working towards a promotion or facing any kind of competitive situation.

To activate, you can display a 3 Powers Wind Horse or the Dragon Among All Men in your NORTH (but not in a bedroom). If your main entrance or bedroom is in the NORTH, you will also benefit from carrying a 3 Powers Wind Horse Amulet.

Students studying for exams can also benefit from the No 1 Star by placing the Brush with View of 3 Mountains in the NORTH of their room.

NORTHWEST (3/6)

The No 6 Heaven Star flies into the NW and offers mentor luck, benefactors, heavenly support and financial windfalls. It also promises recognition and success as it helps you strengthen your relationships.

To channel these divine energies, you can invite Pu Hsien Pusa or a deity of your own faith into the NW of your home.

For extra windfall luck you can display a 3 Jewels Prosperity Bat in your NW and carry a Big Money Bull Amulet.

To attract helpful people and benefactors into your life, carry the Jade Emperor Gui Ren Amulet. This will be particularly useful for the Patriarchs and people living in NW-facing houses.
