The energies have slowly been shifting these last weeks (did you feel it?) with the biggest change happening this February, as we enter the Year of the Fire Horse.
Although growth energy is severely handicapped in the Year of the Horse, we should have a good start into the New Year thanks to the combination of the annual No 1 Victory Star and the monthly No 8 Wealth Star in the CENTRE of the chart. Together, they bring wealth and success, and it is a good time to keep the CENTRE of your home bright and active.
Remember that, now that we are in Period 9, the No 8 Wealth Star needs to be activated for it to bring prosperity and wealth luck because it has become weak. In addition, the No 8 Star could now bring illness as well, so please keep this in mind and use health enhancers as well as wealth enhancers.
The NORTH, NW, EAST and WEST also enjoy positive energy influences, with the EAST and NORTH being particularly auspicious.
Please look out in the SE, SOUTH, SW and NE, which are home to the Loss, Quarrelsome, Misfortune and Illness Stars respectively.
The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.
If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, then please use a reliable compass to take the directions. I recommend taking the compass readings as follows:
- Take one compass reading from your main door, looking out.
- Take another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.
These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.
Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.
SOUTHEAST (9/7)
While the annual No 9 Star promises a great year for those born in the Years of the Dragon or Snake, the monthly No 7 Star brings danger of robbery, betrayal and loss. If you live in a SE-facing home or your main door or bedroom are located in the SE, you need to be particularly careful of falling for scams or getting cheated. Don’t trust people too easily and avoid gambling.
For protection, you can display a Magic Peacock with Anti-Burglary Plaque in your SE and carry a Peacock Feather Amulet.
At work, you can protect yourself by placing Kuan Kung on Horseback in the SE of your office or on your work desk.
If your bedroom is in the SE, (married) couples could encounter problems. As a precaution, you can display a Marriage Lock in the SE of your home or bedroom to improve harmony between you and your partner.
SOUTH (5/3)
The 5/3 stars bring serious trouble to the SOUTH, leading to heightened tension, disagreements and a high risk of disputes. Combined with the annual No 5 Misfortune Star, aggravations could escalate quickly if this sector is too busy. It is best to keep this area as quiet as possible.
To calm the aggression, you can place an Anti-Conflict Rooster or a happy Smiling Buddha in your SOUTH sector. Harmony symbols will also be very helpful.
Those of you who live in SOUTH-facing homes could experience increased misunderstandings within the family, while your relationships at work might feel strained. In addition, there is increased danger of legal problems if matters are not handled with care. To reduce unnecessary friction, you can carry the “Tai Kat Tai Ley” Apple Amulet or wear a Double Popularity Ring to protect your relationships and boost smooth relationships.
SOUTHWEST (7/5)
The SW is another very dangerous sector, as the No 5 Misfortune Star tends to bring increased obstacles, tension, and higher risk of falling sick, accidents or financial strain. Please keep this area calm and quiet this month.
You can subdue the harmful energies with a Heart Sutra Pagoda. The Matriarchs, Sheep and Monkey, as well as those staying in SW-facing homes or SW bedrooms are directly afflicted and are likely to feel overwhelmed as jobs and tasks pile up. You can carry a Heart Sutra Pagoda Amulet to protect you from the Misfortune Star and your Secret Friend Astrology Amulet to protect your relationships with those around you.
EAST (8/6)
The EAST is one of the most auspicious sectors this month, enjoying strong wealth and benefactor luck and Nobleman support. It’s a very good place to spend more time in this February, especially for students, professionals and people wishing to advance in their career. There are opportunities to grow your business, as well as windfall luck to harness.
Those of you who live in EAST-facing houses, have their bedroom in the EAST, or are born in the Year of the Rabbit will particularly benefit, but everyone can activate this fabulous luck by placing Ksiddigarbha sitting on Chi Lin and a Water Dragon Faucet in their EAST sector.
For good luck in the casino or at the races, you can display a Lap Chun Wealth Tree.
Carrying a Nobleman Gui Ren Talisman amulet is highly recommended for students and people wanting to boost their career.
CENTRE (1/8)
The CENTRE is another very auspicious sector this month, where the No 8 Prosperity Star enhances income, investment and windfall luck. It will also help to strengthen relationships, increase influence and boost success, making this a fabulous month to initiate new plans, launch new projects, and focus on new opportunities. Having said that, the No 8 Star needs to be strongly activated now that we are in Period 9, to be effective.
Spend more time here and keep the area brightly lit. In addition, you can display a Sky Bull to activate wealth luck and carry an Annual Wealth Amulet 2026.
As the No 8 Star can also bring illness energies, it would be good to display a 9 Prosperity Wu Lou as well for protection.
WEST (3/1)
Victory and Success luck is strong in the WEST, thanks to the No 1 Star. This can help you climb the career ladder, boost business performance and shine in competitive situations. The Victory Star also helps with recognition and advancement.
To activate, you can display the Trio of Horses in your WEST and carry a Victory Wind Horse Amulet.
Entrepreneurs and business owners can enhance their results by placing the Fly on Monkey on Horse in the WEST of the office.
NORTHEAST (4/2)
Illness and bad health are indicated in the NE, so it will be better not to spend too much time there. You might notice that you are lacking drive and energy, fall sick easily or suffer physical injuries. You could even become a victim of spiritual disturbances. Best keep this space quiet and avoid using bright lights here.
To subdue the illness Chi, you can display a Long Life Vase with Lingzhi in your NE or a Medicine Buddha Plaque.
Those who live in a NE-facing house or stay in a NE bedroom ought to carry a Triple Blessings Wu Lou Amulet this month. The same applies to people born in the Years of the Ox or Tiger.
Never take your good health for granted! Elderly people or those who already suffer from health issues should sleep in a different bedroom if necessary, as the Illness Star is quite strong this month.
NORTH (6/4)
The NORTH enjoys the favourable “Sum of Ten” thanks to the monthly No 4 Star joining the annual No 6 Heaven Star. This powerful combo brings completion luck, helping you finish whatever you start with great success.
If time is of the essence on your projects, or you have a dilemma to solve, then you should definitely enhance these positive energies here with a Swan of Saraswati or a Saraswati Plaque together with the Perfect Ten Enhancer.
