When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
Meditation is something that I would personally like to take time to thank you for. I have, in the past, dabbled on and off with meditation many times, usually being led to it when life’s crises require some kind of answer. There are times when it has become powerful enough that rewards can be seen to justify the effort. I believe that it is only these times that have allowed me to have a sense that it does create changes in life.
I have read that a somewhat normal day for you is 1.5 hours of meditation in the morning followed by a 1-hour workout. I have found that when I begin my day this way, the day seems to flow much better. The question that prompted the email was that without some kind of guidance such as yours, The Soul of Healing Meditations or from others, I have not found meditation to be positive. At times, I feel trapped in the very ideas that I am attempting to rid myself of. However, the idea of being able to meditate without relying on someone else is the goal.
The path to love touches on this by attempting to listen to the heart. I wondered if you have any other suggestions that have worked for you, other than focusing on the breath? Is there something that you can put into words that has given you true “awareness” during your sessions? I understand that meditation has to be felt and learned individually, but your thoughts and ideas have allowed me to reach a place in my life that cannot be expressed in words.
Thank you for your guided knowledge. I feel that some people are true leaders of ideas that can be life-changing and have found no others to be more profound than yours.
Response:
Thank you for your kind words. If you want a meditation practice that is not guided or based on mindfulness of your breath, then I would recommend Primordial Sound Meditation. Look on my site for more information and where the nearest teacher is located. This is a mantra based meditation and it makes you entirely self-sufficient in your practice—no CDs, no tapes, no one and nothing else is required except the ability to have a thought and a place to sit with your eyes closed.
Love,
Deepak
