This has been really eye-opening, as I have been studying my own chart and I have to say that the degrees really model my chart really well. For example, I have my Mars in Gemini, but it’s at the 25th degree, which is one of the Aries degrees. And I have always been puzzled by why I am so overwhelmingly aggressive, especially when communicating online. I used to chalk it up to the fact my Mars was angular (it’s in the 4th) or that it was because it was my rising planet. But now I know, it’s because my Mars, which is already associated with Aries, is at an Aries degree, which really fans the flames, so to speak.
And also, both my ascendant degree as well my Moon, are at a Pisces degree. I had always been puzzled by why I seemed to have such an overwhelmingly Piscean-like approach to everything. I thought it was cause my ascendant was in Pisces plus I had Neptune on Midheaven. But now I know it’s because I have a really amplified Pisces ascendant at its own degree, plus my Moon (which is in Scorpio) PLUS my Saturn (which is in Virgo), are all at a Pisces degree. Whew!
Lastly though, I have been looking at a chart that belongs to another person. This is the birth chart that I imagine this person to have, I don’t have any proof as to its authenticity, but I think it’s fun to play with. In this person’s chart, he has Mars in his 7th, in Aries, at the 12th degree, a Pisces degree. And since the planet that occupies one’s 7th house tells stories about who one is attracted to on a romantic level, would you say that this person would be attracted to someone who has both Aries as well Pisces energy? Aries because he’s got Mars there, and Pisces because his Mars is at a Pisces degree. If my theory pans out, then this whole degree thing is truly a very useful tool.
Building on this person’s birth chart more, I myself have Saturn right on my Descendant at a Pisces degree. So, in theory, I would be attracted to someone who’s got a mix of Saturn as well as Pisces energy. And guess what? This individual has a Libra ascendant (Saturn exalts here), has a whole bunch of planets in Capricorn in an angular house, plus he’s got Moon in Pisces at, guess what, a Capricorn degree. Wow, this is so accurate it’s actually a bit scary, lol.
Anyways, maybe you can study the charts of people you know intimately, and see for yourself whether degrees truly work the way I think they do. Thank you.
