Dear Reader,
My job is to make your life happier and more productive by reporting to you all the news in the heavens. The new moon May 26 will mark the demarcation line between the past months that were laden with delays, challenges, and a lack of progress and what I call the official start of 2025.
In your May forecast, I detail the avalanche of retrograde “personal planets,” which are specifically Mars, Mercury, and Venus. Those are the planets that orbit closest to Earth, unlike the big outer planets that stay in a sign for years and set the themes and goals that we notice during large portions of our lives. In contrast, the personal planets move quickly and are the ones that are involved with our day-to-day activities, so we notice when they are retrograde because our progress is impeded.
It was unusual to see these planets each go out of phase individually, one after the other without any breathing room in between. This happened during the first five months of 2025. It was a time to look back and do constant course correction. It put a terrible damper on the start of this year, but as I studied the patterns, I saw that finally, by the new moon May 26, the heavy cloud cover will lift and suddenly the year officially begins on that date, May 26, 2025.
Since I did not write my Year Ahead book this year, I decided to give you what I would have written in my book for free. I didn’t want to put out a book last fall and tell you that 2025 would have a dull and frustrating start, mainly due to an unusual slew of retrogrades.
The retrogrades of the personal planets started in late November 2024 and kept on going to mid-April 2025. After that, we had to wait for each of the personal planets to regulate its strength, a process that takes time. Astrologers know how to gauge the process mathematically. To report in my book (had I written it) that the first five months of the year would be a time to look back and to continually course correct would have been too depressing to share with you.
Now after climbing the mountain, swimming the ocean, and stomping through the sweaty jungle, at long last, we can see the promise land ahead.
I do confess that as you start May, we are still under the influence of the difficult new moon of April 27. I gave you lots of detail about it last month, so you had that information under your belt. You can always access my previous month’s forecast for one month. I detailed the April 27 new moon again in my May report to you to remind you of how you how the month would feel as you entered it.
This was a hard month to write because on the heels of the April 27 new moon will come a worse full moon in Scorpio. In a wild state, Uranus will conjunct the Sun in Taurus and directly oppose the full moon in Scorpio on May 12 (plus an additional five days of influence). I am sure some readers won’t believe anything good can come out of this month, but it can, and it will! The energy of the year will shift to be more vibrant and forward-looking. When it happens it may feel miraculous.
There is more news. Saturn is moving into Aries on May 24, so I wanted you to know about that. This temporary move of Saturn will be only a little preview of what’s to come in a more sustained way in 2026. For now, Saturn will only stay in Aries from May 24 until September 1. Saturn will retreat back to Pisces but return to Aries for good on February 13, 2026, to stay two years, until April 12, 2028.
Neptune recently went into Aries too, on March 30, but will only remain until October 22 in a similar preview. Neptune will return to Aries next year on January 26, 2026, for a 14-year stay, until March 2039. I talked about that last month, but reminded certain signs about that change too, if I felt that sign would notice Neptune’s presence in a new place.
Jupiter, the good fortune planet, is in his last days of Gemini and is set to leave on June 9. On that day, Jupiter will enter Cancer for the first time in 12 years. You have Cancer somewhere in your chart, and this means each of us will have new opportunities crop up when Jupiter changes signs. I will get into more detail about Jupiter next month, although for some signs, like Cancer, I did go into detail this month. Cancer will enter their Emerald Year, poised to be their happiest year in the decade.
If you only read one forecast I write this year, make it the May 2025 forecast. The news will lift your spirits and show you that better days lie ahead.
In July, Uranus will make his once-in-seven-year change to a new sign: Gemini. The place Uranus holds in your chart is where you go for stimulation and surprise.

With so much changing in our solar system, don’t miss any news. Read your comprehensive daily forecasts I write on my “Astrology Zone Horoscopes” app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. There is a free version, but the premium version is chock full of information and offers you 80-85 word longer daily forecasts. Also, get my runaway best-selling app “Moonlight Phases,” which informs you of every day through 2050 about when the moon is void and when it is not. It also tells you where the moon is each day, and by using the app regularly, you will soon see certain signs are more favorable for you than others. To find out more about a void moon (when you should never schedule any key initiation), simply touch the screen and see what I wrote—a list of questions and answers will immediately appear automatically. It is only $7.99 (a one-time charge).
I have GPS built into both my apps, so you always get on-time, accurate information.
Plan something important for the start of 2025 on the day after the new moon May 26. That new moon will appear late in the evening EDT and even later elsewhere, so circle May 27 on your calendar to start your activities. Let us know how you do!
June will be a fabulous month! It includes the Luckiest Day of the Year!
Sincerely
Susan
PS This month I wrote 42,361 words for all 12 forecasts, and that is 3,530 words on average for each sign. If the normal book you buy in a bookstore has 250 words on a page, what I have given you this month is equivalent to a 170-page book.
