I would like to ask your opinion in a situation that I am experiencing in my life.
I have been working full-time for the past eight years in a position that was very motivating and fulfilling.
At the present moment, I feel that I am struggling with it because I do not feel any more motivation or satisfaction; I feel like I have completed my “mission” in that place and that I need to move on and advance looking for the real purpose of my life.
In one of the Seven Spiritual Laws (the Law of Karma), you explain that every action has an effect in our lives and that we should ask our hearts for the correct answer in a specific situation.
My problem right now is that I feel guilty of leaving my job because it may affect the future of some of my family members (specifically my son who will benefit from a free tuition at the university where I work).
My question is: should I accept the present as it is and stay in my job to assure the future of my son letting the Universe work at its pace and hoping that it will guide me to take the right decision?”
My Response:
I think you owe it to your son to be true to yourself.
You will be giving him a much greater gift by teaching him by your example to find and follow his own purpose.
Also, don’t sell yourself short because you think your new career won’t bring you enough extra income to compensate for the university tuition.
There is no reason that it can’t.
If you stay where you are just for the sake of his future tuition, you will feel disengaged from your life purpose, and rarely do positive effects in life follow from that choice.
