Solar Arcs, absolutely… but Lunar Arcs?

The inner wheel below depicts Ms. Mansfield’s natal chart, the middle wheel the Bija-corrected Solar Arc directed chart for June 29, 1967, and the outer chart, the Lunar Arc directed chart for the same date. All directions are Bija corrected (one sidereal day equals one year).

Lunar Arc Moon square Solar Arc Pluto (12’) applying. In the writer’s opinion, this is the smoking gun. Sakoian and Acker write in Predictive Astrology, this “often coincides with the death of a family member.”
Robson has no judgment regarding Pluto since the planet was discovered the year he published The Radix System.

LA Moon semisextile radical Uranus (25’) separating
LA Moon semisquare SA Moon’s North Node (56’) Robson: “Danger…sudden falls.”
LA Sun square rad Uranus (24’) separating. Robson: “Sudden catastrophe…loss by travel…liable to accidents.”
LA Neptune is opposition SA Sun (35’) separating
LA Sun semisextile SA Pluto (12’) applying.
LA Pluto sesquiquadrate SA Sun (46’), applying. Sakoian and Acker: “the individual can become involved in issues of life and death;” and, as a nod to one of the posters here, “Some individuals are exposed to psychic dangers through involvement in occult or magic practices.”

The Lunar Arc Moon and Sun midpoint, Gemini 23:45, is within 16’ of the midpoint of radical Uranus and Solar Arc Pluto, Gemini 23:29, linking the Lights with Uranus and Pluto, which are square in the radix and both currently under hard aspects.

LA Midheaven semisquare rad Uranus (17’). Robson: “Sudden and unexpected troubles and disaster.”
LA Midheaven square rad Neptune (46’) “Unfortunate journeys.”
LA Midheaven sextile the SA Ascendant (03’) and Moon’s North Node (14’).
The LA Midheaven at Gemini 08:24 is on the SA Ascendant and SA MNN midpoint, Gemini 08:18, within 06’. The Moon is the ruler of the Ascendant; the LA Moon is in hard aspect to the SA Nodes.
LA Pluto in very close opposition SA Midheaven (04’)
LA Ascendant sesquiquadrate rad Saturn, ruler of and residing in the 8th house (14’)
LA Ascendant semisextile rad Mars (42’)

In The Radix System, Robson refers to the directed Sun, Moon, Midheaven and Ascendant (and Part of Fortune) as Significators, and says, “The directions formed by and to the five Significators…are by far the most important…all events are shown by the Significators.” Here all the Significators listed are in hard aspects to the planets in the Solar Arc directions and Secondary/Major progressions involved in this unfortunate event: Uranus, Pluto, Mars, Neptune and Saturn.
The closeness of the Lunar Arc directed angles (Midheaven and Ascendant) in particular, are very impressive IMO.

Robson refers to directions formed between Significators as Class 1, and between the other celestial bodies as Class 2. The Class 2 directions follow.

LA Mars opposition SA Uranus (30’) applying. Robson says, “danger of violence; accidents.” Elbert Benjamine writes hard aspects between Mars and Uranus are the very signature of accidents.
LA Mars semisquare SA Neptune (33’) separating. “Danger from water, liquids, gas, and poison.” In the foggy early morning, the car carrying Ms. Mansfield hit a truck spraying insecticides.
LA Jupiter sesquiquadrate rad Uranus (17”). “Unfortunate journeys.”
LA Saturn is inconjunct SA Neptune (23’) applying. “Loss by travel.”
LA Neptune is semisquare SA Jupiter (42’) separating; “Losses in travel.”
LA Pluto semisquare rad Mars (08’). Sakoian and Acker say, “Impulsive action…important to exercise caution…the individual may also be in danger of injury or death.”
LA Pluto sesquiquadrate SA Venus (14’)

Since the true daily motion of the Secondary/Major Moon in effect in this case is 11° 55’ 37”, the Lunar Arc Moon and all Lunar Arc directed bodies are directed forward 1’ 58” per day. That means an orb of 03’, the tightest here, would correspond to just a day and a half of real (experienced) time, and the largest orb included here, 56’ less than 29 days. That means the majority of Lunar Arc directions listed here were in effect two weeks or less.

Based on this study, the writer believes directions by Lunar Arc, as timing and reinforcing indicators, are real and useful.
