Sometimes the Cost of Belonging Can Be Too High ⋆ Ann Perry Numerologist

This year, the Universe handed me a tough but necessary truth: the cost of belonging can be too high.

I’ve recently experienced a shift in a long-standing friendship. I’m sensing that many of you may be feeling this way too.

These are friends I’ve shared lots of laughter, dinners, and memories with over the years. People I kept making space for – even
when their energy felt off. Even when their political rants grated on my soul. Even when I learned they were disrespecting
my deep love for wildlife, somehow I continued to make them a priority. Can you relate?

Still, I stayed. Still, I smiled, all the while tolerating what felt intolerable.

Why?

Because, like so many of us, I had a deep need to belong. To be accepted. To feel included.

But here’s what I’ve come to see, especially under the influence of this 9 Universal Year:

There’s a big cost to fitting in where you no longer belong.

And for many of us, that cost is authenticity, peace, and self-respect.

As someone in a 1 Personal Year, I’m being asked to step into a new chapter – one where I no longer shapeshift to make others comfortable.

Basically, I’m no longer going to apologize for who I am or hide in the shadows anymore.

And my 16/7 essence? (the influence coming from my birth name) It’s clearing house energetically, emotionally and spiritually while saying:

“If it’s not aligned with your truth, it can’t come with you.”

Wow. That sounds really harsh but it’s an undeniable and painful truth.

This isn’t about bitterness. It’s about boundaries. It’s about standing up for myself and my beliefs without fearing rejection.
It’s about finally hearing the whispers that have been nudging me for years. It’s about trusting that growing out of something isn’t the same as failing it.

This includes relationships, jobs and maybe some of those outdated limiting beliefs you’ve carried for too long.

So, have you been feeling this too? Maybe you’ve been noticing how certain friendships just don’t feel right anymore. The fact is that your vibration is changing and you are simply no longer in sync. But this is HARD because you likely still value all of the good times you’ve had in the past. The grief is real.

You’re not alone. You’re not unkind. You’re not better than anyone else. You’re just evolving.

And in a 9 Universal Year, that’s exactly what we’re all being asked to do.

Here are some questions for you to reflect upon …

  • Where are you still trying to belong at the expense of your own peace?
  • What signs have you been ignoring?
  • What part of you is ready to stop tolerating what no longer fits?

Let me leave you with these thoughts …

Letting Go with Grace

If you’re struggling with a relationship that feels out of sync, try saying this to yourself:

“I honor what we shared – the laughter, the memories, the moments that made me feel seen and accepted. But something has shifted.
And while I’ve questioned myself and the role I played in this, I now understand: not every disconnection requires an explanation.”

“This isn’t all about me.”

“I forgive what I don’t understand. I release what no longer serves. And I open my heart to new connections that will support who
I am becoming.”

“Thank you for walking with me. I now walk forward with love – and without expectation.”

Remember …

You’re not alone. You’re not unkind. You’re not better than anyone else. You’re just evolving.
