For context, I just had a final job interview with 2 interviewers. I had a really good connection with both of them. One of them had to leave early. The last interviewer was a fairly senior boss. This would be the boss of my boss, not my direct superior. I was immediately surprised at his age – we are the same age, he is very young for such a senior position.
OK so I have never done anything like this in my life and it is very uncharacteristic of me to act in a risky way …
There was a good intellectual rapport, yes, but I really think that there was some flirting there too… I asked a horary question, will something happen between us. Partially, it was a sanity-check, did that just happen or was it my imagination?
In my own head, as hopeful as it might be, I would consider any ‘safe option’ forward. For example, I know that some companies like staff that are involved with each other to both sign a brief document to simply to tell HR. There is a big rank difference here however. I would accept nothing happening between us, if it came to a conversation. If me signing something would help keep us safe (I would want to keep him safe, he has more to lose) I would gladly do it. In my mind, thinking calmly, logically, with an open mind, perhaps there could be a safe way forward.
