2026 Taurus New Moon
Listen to Astrologer Kathy Biehl discuss the 2026 Taurus New Moon Astrology Forecast.
A break in the chaos and frenzy is coming with the Taurus New Moon. Leave your striving behind for the moment and simply be. Seriously. It’s okay. Have a snack. Have a snooze. It’s safe to pause. Seriously. You’ll know when it’s time to get moving again.
This Moon is a rest stop for us weary travelers, a way station for refreshing before heading off into the fray. It reminds us that we are in a body, on a planet, and that both are to be nurtured and enjoyed. It invites sinking into physicality in all of its sensations and comforts. It invites thinking and talking about resources and food and creativity, and setting practical, worldly goals for them. It invites planting a garden – real and metaphoric – that promises tangible, bankable growth.
This particular Taurus New Moon has a coming-home air, with notes of relief. The sign loves stability and predictability, both of which have been jeopardized mightily for the past seven years, what with Uranus zapping the sign’s turf with lightning and jolts and shocks and all manner of disruptions. This promises to be the first truly stable-feeling Taurus New Moon in as long, because it is the first since Uranus cleared out of the sign on April 25.
It comes with an ability to focus that we haven’t enjoyed for a while as well. Oh, the mood will still be lively and gadabout – ruler Venus is in Gemini, after all – but the Moon’s conjunction to Mercury grounds communication. When the cosmic messenger lands on earth, thinking and talking are deliberate, prone to practicalities, to how-tos, to thinking things through before speaking. (How’s that for a change?) Since the Sun, Moon, and Mercury are working together, we know more clearly what we want, value, and desire, and we are able to convey that in concrete terms.
And we’re not denying ourselves. The Moon’s sextile to Jupiter inspires grander, more indulgent expressions, venturing even into luxury, however we define that. Jupiter’s presence offers caring and nurturing and a gentle rain of emotions to soften the soil for our gardens (again, real and metaphoric) and encourage the New Moon’s seeds to root and develop.
So what do you want? What do you want to create? What do you want to plant and cultivate? Mull it over … and start planting.
Factor into your garden: What is nagging you for attention? More than one thing, issue, or matter, most likely, and they may deserve a place in the next phase of life.
The nagging is coming at the Moon from two directions. It’s halfway between its ruler Venus, in the chatty, flexible, curiosity-driven sign of Gemini, and a power trio in go-getter Aries: Mars, ruler of our drive, Eris, his sibling goddess of war (whose specialty is stirring discord), and Chiron, the abiding wound.
Those bookends are in a cooperative link, a door-opening sextile, which encourages tackling multiple projects at once with enthusiasm and vigor and willingness to not just face challenges, but dive into them. Embrace this aspect’s help and you’ll set goals and intentions that excite you enough to cultivate them. Taurus energy has the stuff to foster seeds with the organic power to blossom and grow, to be sure, but the Venus/Mars collab moves you to action, instead of just allowing nature to take its course.
And don’t forget the nagging. Venus’ semisextile to the Moon is angling for flexibility and multi-tasking and not taking everything so darn seriously. Mars’ semi-sextile to the Moon is a repeated call to get going already (with Eris and Chiron arguing for shaking things up).
This one-two punch will help you know when it’s time to leave the rest stop. They’ll be sending out reminders, like a background program, while you settle into the comforts of this Moon. And when you turn and face the irritants, see if they don’t assist you in bringing your intentions to fruition.
No need to rush, though. The year has been hectic, and the pace of life is only going to speed up. Enjoy this moment. Savor it. And create some comfort that can grow and go with you.
