There Is No Bad Part of Your Home
One of the first things I teach my clients is that there is no bad part of your home.
You may look around and think:
- My prosperity area is the bathroom.
- My prosperity area is the laundry room.
- My prosperity area is the garage.
- My prosperity area is my teenager’s bedroom.
And immediately, your mind starts creating stories about why abundance can’t flow into your life.
But that mindset alone can become part of the problem.
Your home is energy.
It responds to the way you think about it, interact with it, and care for it.
The walls, windows, doors, and rooms all contribute to the energetic experience of your home.
Rather than seeing a room as a problem, begin seeing it as an opportunity.
Understanding the Prosperity Area
In Feng Shui, the prosperity area is generally associated with the southeast area of your home.
Many people become fixated on this area and worry that if it isn’t “perfect,” they’ll struggle financially.
However, abundance is influenced by much more than one room.
Your prosperity area is simply one piece of a much larger energetic picture.
What matters most is the overall energy and condition of that space.
Ask yourself:
- Is anything broken?
- Is anything neglected?
- Does the space feel cluttered?
- Is it clean and functional?
- Does it feel good to spend time there?
These simple questions can reveal a lot.
What If Your Wealth Area Is the Bathroom?
This is probably the most common concern I hear.
Many people have heard the myth that if the wealth area contains a toilet, all of their money is being “flushed away.”
Fortunately, that’s not how Feng Shui works.
One of my teachers used to joke that some billionaires have more bathrooms than bedrooms, and they’re doing just fine financially.
Instead of worrying about the bathroom, focus on elevating it.
Consider:
- fresh fluffy towels
- beautiful flowers
- luxurious soaps
- pleasant scents
- cleanliness and organization
Think about creating a space that feels like a five-star hotel bathroom.
When you improve the energy of the space, you improve your relationship with it.
One of my clients transformed her bathroom in exactly this way and shortly afterward secured a new job she had been hoping for.
What If Your Wealth Area Is a Bedroom?
If the prosperity area falls in your child’s or teenager’s bedroom, don’t despair.
Instead, focus on creating supportive conversations and improvements within the room.
Encourage:
- cleanliness
- organization
- functionality
- a positive atmosphere
You can even explain how the room is connected to growth, opportunity, and abundance within the home.
Small improvements can create meaningful energetic shifts.
And remember, prosperity isn’t only about money.
It’s also about growth, opportunities, confidence, and future potential.
What If Your Wealth Area Is the Garage or Laundry Room?
Garages and laundry rooms often get neglected because they’re viewed as purely functional spaces.
But in Feng Shui, every space matters.
If your prosperity area falls in one of these locations:
- keep it clean
- keep it organized
- repair anything broken
- remove clutter
- maintain good lighting
These simple actions help create energetic flow.
You can also create a small prosperity corner elsewhere in your home, such as the southeast corner of your living room or kitchen, using meaningful symbols of abundance.
The Bigger Picture of Prosperity
One of the most important things to understand is that abundance is influenced by much more than your southeast corner.
Professional Feng Shui analysis considers factors such as:
- the shape of the home
- missing areas
- the home’s construction period
- current Feng Shui cycles
- surrounding environment
- energetic patterns unique to the property
Sometimes a home can be experiencing energetic challenges that have nothing to do with the visible prosperity area at all.
This is why two people can have similar homes but completely different experiences with abundance.
Your Home Is Full of Potential
The good news is that almost every Feng Shui challenge can be improved.
Your prosperity area is not a life sentence.
It’s simply information.
The moment you become aware of your home’s energy, you have the opportunity to work with it consciously.
Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, start asking:
“What can I improve?”
“How can I support this area?”
“What small change can I make today?”
Those small shifts often create surprisingly powerful results.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve been worried that your wealth area is in the “wrong” part of your home, let this be your reminder:
There is no bad part of your home.
Your home is filled with potential, possibilities, and opportunities to create more flow, abundance, and prosperity.
The key is learning how to work with your home’s energy rather than fear it.
