NOTE 1: WEEK 17 is an 8 WEEK (1+7=8). It runs from THURSDAY, APRIL 23rd to WEDNESDAY the 29th. This is the 5th week of a 7-week cycle in which all the Week Numbers are KARMIC TEEN NUMBERS. Karma is another word for cause-and-effect, which is the principal nature of 8, and although its lessons can be harsh, it also includes the effects that occur when its lessons are learned (good karma).
The teen years are intense learning years. So, it’s essential that we try to understand both the power, and utter frustration, of today’s teenagers and young adults. It is equally important for older people to remember our own younger years, and what we learned from them – and did not learn. Now, regardless of your current age, if you go back far enough, you will find that forgiveness of yourself and/or others, can release you from an emotional weight that you’ve been carrying inside for all those years.
1 is the number that ALL the teen numbers have in common, and in this violent shift from the 1000s to the 2000s, 1 demonstrates what we’re up against, and what we have to work with. 1 represents THE INDIVIDUAL (Self), and reminds us that every 1 of us has something to contribute. 8 expands that POTENTIAL.
1 = ACTION and the OUTER SELF.
7 = INTENT and the INNER SELF.
17/8 = RESULTS.
8 represents POWER in the material world, and is perhaps the most karmic of all the numbers. 8 represents investment. It gives us a return on what we put out there. This week, however, it is also likely to involve the consequences of POWER in greedy, abusive, and unqualified hands.

So much is happening at the same time that we often feel unable to respond in any way that could make the slightest difference. But in these KARMIC TEEN WEEKS, there is a measurable difference in the reactions and responses of people all over the world. As frightening as it may feel, we instinctively know that if we don’t stand up to the bully, the bully will prevail. WEEK 17 is a good time to put this to the test because 17/8 not only represents POWER, but also the ABUSE OF POWER, which leaves the abuser exposed and vulnerable.
Karmic 17 is a self-centered energy. 1 = EGO and SELFISHNESS, and 7 = MISPLACED PRIDE and ASSUMED SUPERIORITY.
And yet, 8 also holds the highest propensity for not only obtaining knowledge, but also being able to understand information on multiple levels. Unfortunately, our natural intelligence is under attack by a great surge of artificial “intelligence” which is designed to destroy our ability to think, or venture deeper into things than the “ruling forces” want us to go.
We are told that this technology can “think”, but as with any technology, it can only think what has been programmed into it BY people whose ability to think beyond their own power, prejudices, and ambitions, is dangerously limited.
The name Palantir comes from the Tolkien classic, LORD OF THE RINGS. It refers to a number of indestructible crystal stones which enable communication and surveillance in both the present and the past. But they were unreliable because only those who “possess great strength of will and mind” were able to bring the crystals to their full capacity. They were also unreliable because their users were selective and deceptive as to what was presented.
Scholars of Tolkien’s work have compared the use of the stones to wartime propaganda – and the fact that blind trust in technology leads to error. And sure enough, in the real world, the AI company Palantir has been linked to battlefield and surveillance data, including its role in Israel’s genocide in Gaza and now Lebanon, and the Israeli/US attacks on Iran, as well as its tracking and surveillance activities with ICE in Minnesota and other U.S. cities, and its deepening reach into the British State.

Fear is bound to arise as we move through the uncharted territory of the 2020s, so don’t be afraid to be afraid. Only by learning what needs to be feared – and what does not – can we develop the courage that will see us through this chaotic energy. The events of WEEK 17 can help us better understand the mayhem, clashes, confusion, and flagrant abuse of power occurring all over the world, and how abnormal and totally immoral the status quo actually is.

The greatest gift that 8 bestows is not material in nature, but emotional. It is the feeling of SATISFACTION and CONTENTMENT that comes from truly APPRECIATING what you already have, instead of constantly wanting more. Appreciation enables you to use what you’ve got to get what you want. Being grateful for what you’ve got, is a form of self-respect, and is a major lesson of the 17/8 energy. With so much strife and suffering going on in the world, gratitude for what we’ve got is a growing force.
In a week that focuses on POWER, we are likely to realize just how POWERLESS we are (which is often part of a teenager’s dilemma), but also just how POWERFUL we have it in us to be! We, the people, ARE the power that fuels humanity, which is why so much effort is being put into killing our individual and collective WILLS. The WILL is a complex and vital part of ourselves. Our most basic instinct – SURVIVAL – the WILL TO LIVE – is where the WILL begins.
We must learn to be totally honest with ourselves as to what we’re truly feeling. When we shrug our emotions off and just go about our daily act, we cut ourselves off from our ability to FEEL and SENSE. Without that, we cannot change anything because we have no desire to do so. No desire means that we have nothing with which to hold our hopes and wishes together.
Desires slip away so easily that we call them our ‘dreams’. Follow your dreams, we say. But if you can’t feel, there is nothing to keep the memory of your dream alive. No PASSION. We get distracted too easily and forget what we were once so excited about. Excitement is a cocktail of feelings. But we often choose to forgo that urge so we will not have to feel fear, which is also an essential part of the emotional range, an essential part of our intelligence, and an essential part of being alive.
People only see what they are prepared to see…and we are not prepared for real change. We fear change. Only when we are more afraid of the status quo than we are of change can real and meaningful change take place – and we do appear to be moving much closer to that stage now.
